PIP Sid Scruggs Announced as LCI Guest Speaker -MD 11 Convention

The MD 11 Convention Committee is pleased to host PIP Sid Scruggs at the annual convention in Grand Rapids May 16-18, 2024.

Past International President Sid L. Scruggs III, of Vass, North Carolina, was elected president of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the 93rd International Convention, held in Sydney, Australia, June 28-July 2, 2010. Past President Scruggs is a retired military and commercial airline pilot and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.

Using as his presidential theme A Beacon of Hope, Past President Scruggs made service to others – the core principle of Lions clubs around the world – the focal point of his presidency.

PIP Scruggs is invited to attend all events scheduled for the convention, beginning with the Thursday picnic in Rockford, and ending with the awards banquet on Saturday.

The Sparta Lions will be showcasing their culinary talents, ensuring a delicious picnic meal. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with fellow Lions and kick off the convention in style. To secure your spot, be sure to register for the picnic with a nominal fee of $10 per person. Convenient transportation from the hotel will be provided, ensuring a hassle-free journey to the festivities. Let's come together, celebrate our shared mission, and make lasting memories at the MD11 Convention Kickoff Picnic!

 

 PROM NIGHT CELEBRATION

Dress to impress and join us for a night of glamour and fundraising at the Lions Prom Night Celebration on Friday evening during the Convention! This event offers a unique opportunity for friendly competition among clubs in your district to raise funds for a chance to be crowned Lions Prom King or Queen. The fundraising period is open now and extends until April 30th, so gather your fellow Lions and start making a difference. Districts have until the April 30th deadline to move two candidates forward to the King and Queen's Court. The final contestants can continue their fundraising efforts until 7 PM on May 17th, with the crowning ceremony taking place on Friday evening. We encourage everyone to come dressed in their finest prom attire, ready for an unforgettable night of fun and the chance to be crowned Lions Prom Royalty!
